WatchandWager, a division of Webis Holdings, has extended its permit to provide horse racing services in California. The two-year extension, granted by the California Horse Racing Board (CHRB), commences next year and concludes in 2022. This enables WatchandWager to persist in taking online wagers from California residents.
The enterprise stated that the renewal signifies it will maintain access to the most populated state in the nation, which will also aid them in expanding into sports wagering once regulations are enacted.
Webis also possesses a long-term lease on the California Exposition & State Fair racetrack, indicating they offer land-based betting alongside their online operations.
“We are pleased to have obtained this significant license renewal for WatchandWager from the California Horse Racing Board,” remarked WatchandWager President Ed Comins. “We are certain that the tax revenue, earnings, and job creation produced by this license will be highly advantageous to California, particularly during these challenging economic circumstances brought about by the California wildfires and the COVID-19 pandemic.”
We are absolutely delighted to have secured this crucial permit and to be present at the California State Fair in Sacramento. We are confident that legal sports wagering will generate more employment opportunities, duties, and tax revenue for the state. WatchandWager is prepared to collaborate closely with the state, not only to support horse racing and gaming, but also to assist California in its recovery.
