The Canberra Gaming Establishment is no longer qualified for JobKeeper assistance due to a significant recovery in the last quarter of 2020.

Aquis Entertainment, the proprietor and manager of the gaming venue, had previously met the requirements for the second stage of the Australian government’s JobKeeper initiative, which spanned from September 28th, 2020, to January 3rd, 2021. This program aimed to provide support to businesses facing difficulties during the COVID-19 crisis, enabling them to retain their workforce.

Nevertheless, the robust performance in the preceding quarter indicated that the gaming establishment had rebounded to pre-pandemic levels of operation, consequently disqualifying it from further government aid.

As of December 2020, the entire staff complement has resumed their duties. The gaming venue continues to function in accordance with its COVID-Safe protocols, as mandated by the Australian Capital Territory authorities, and adheres to a capacity restriction of one individual per four square meters of usable interior area.
