Following regulatory approval, Crown Resorts has designated Mark McWhinnie to lead Crown Sydney as its chief executive officer. McWhinnie possesses extensive knowledge in the integrated resort and hospitality industry, with a career spanning over forty years across Asia, Australia, and the Pacific.
His prior position placed him in a senior management role at Sands China, where he managed the daily operations of eight resorts, including renowned establishments like The Venetian Macao and The Londoner Macao. Throughout his thirteen years at Sands China, he demonstrated a commitment to environmentally sound practices, notably obtaining LEED Silver certification for the design and construction of The Parisian Macao.
McWhinnie’s impressive background also encompasses executive positions at the distinguished 石шин Hotels Group in Japan and Hyatt Hotels and Resorts across Asia and Australia.
He succeeds Simon McGrath, whose time at Crown Sydney will conclude at the end of September.
