Media outlet Sky News reports that Allwyn, the organization competing for the UK National Lottery operation, is poised to name David Craven as its next chief executive.
Allwyn, a subsidiary of the Czech gaming giant Sazka Group, plans to reveal Craven’s selection on Wednesday in a move to strengthen its bid for the upcoming National Lottery permit.
Craven brings extensive experience heading prominent gaming software and wagering enterprises, notably The Tote and World Gaming. His expertise in “transforming the betting sector through technology” is considered a valuable strength by Allwyn.
The Gambling Commission is anticipated to determine later this year whether to grant the next license to the current holder, Camelot, or award it to a competitor.
This news follows a series of other significant appointments by Sazka, including Sir Keith Mills as bid chair and other industry leaders such as former Sainsbury’s chief executive Justin King and Lastminute.com co-creator Brent Hoberman.
“The National Lottery holds greater significance than ever,” stated Craven. “My career has been dedicated to leveraging technology for an enhanced customer journey, both in physical locations and online.”
“Beyond simply making games enjoyable and engaging, I firmly believe that technology offers the optimal method for safeguarding customers.”
